The Facts

Note: Greg Locke has moved to Seattle, Washington and is currently looking for work in the music journalism field. Additionally, this site may have a new homepage address soon, so please be sure to e-mail Greg at gregwlocke@gmail.com if you lose your link.
PURPOSE:
Ease Down the Road collects the work of music and arts journalist/critic Greg Locke. All content, programming, design and editing on this bare-bones site is done by Locke, who writes for a number of publications, most frequently Whatzup (Fort Wayne, Indiana) and Nuvo (Indianapolis, Indiana). Click HERE to read a story about Greg’s time as a music journalist in the Midwest.
BACKBONE:
The majority of the content found on Ease Down the Road Online has been published in print, some is exclusive to this site. A wet-behind-the-ears music enthusiast, Locke began writing professionally in 2001 while attending Indiana University in Bloomington as a studio art major. By January of 2003, Locke started writing weekly long-form album reviews for Whatzup, eventually going on to write occasional feature stories and a weekly indie hip-hop column called Beatmisner. In May of 2006, Locke stopped writing on a freelance basis for Whatzup after accepting a full-time position as the weekly publication’s Managing Editor. By June of 2006, Whatzup publisher Doug Driscoll asked Locke to begin writing a weekly music column called Ease Down the Road; some editions feature interviews, anecdotes, lists or reviews - most focus on music-related news. In addition to his Managing Editor duties, Locke still writes for Whatzup and does the majority of graphic design and layout work. In the summer of 2007 Locke became a regular contributor to Nuvo, writing show previews, feature stories and album reviews on a weekly basis. Most recently Locke accepted a position as a regular album reviewer for Tiny Mix Tapes.
TINY MIX TAPES:
Tiny Mix Tapes is a music and film webzine that focuses on album reviews, music news, film and, of course, mixtapes (the site even features a mixtape generator). More info can be found at www.whatzup.com.
NUVO:
Nuvo is a free arts and entertainment publication based out of Indianapolis, Indiana with a circulation of 48,000 print copies. In addition to the print circulation, Nuvo receives 203,000 unique visits to their website each week, bringing their estimated readership up to approximately 250,000 readers each week, making the publication one of the most-read weekly arts and entertainment papers in the country.
